A Marathon !!! WOW

Today Brian and Maegan ran the Layton Marathon from Antelope Island, across the causeway and the finish line was at Ellison Elementary School, 4 blocks from our old house. Here are some pics we shot as we took their 5 (after spending the night here with us) and we cheered them on....... Here are 4 of them waiting for their Mom and Dad to run by... Then a picture of Maegan's dad joining them.

Libbi (Maeg's sister) also joined them. Maeg crosses over in front of Brian and Libbi comes in just behind them - and you can see on the clock they did it in 5 hours and 39 minutes. (Brian had to take a break from mile 22 and 25 and ran the last 1.26 mile with Maeg and Libby.

Labor Day Weekend

My mom came to visit us on Labor Day Weekend and we went to the zoo with the Presidents. We enjoyed having her as our first visitor to our new home.....

The Barton's Visit

Katie and our 4 grandkids (Rylie, Brooke, Ashlynn, Cade) and their dog came to visit us for 4 weeks. We LOVED having them home. We spent one day at This is the Place Heritage Park.
The girls, Grandpa and I did 30 miles on the bike in 3 days. It was great having them around. We did fireworks from the car this year in North Salt Lake... crazy time with the Presidents and Bartons.

Here are some pictures when we went to the This is the Place Heritage Park. We went the Friday before Mike, Jess and the 4 kids (Oki Duryea's) left for Okinawa.

We've also included some pictures of the building of our new home.... I'll say the same as Victor's Uncle said: We are like sub-contractors - we are there more often than the contractor is =}

We've enjoyed watching our house being built... Expected completion date is July 27th - give or take a few days.

Our New Home ~ Building has begun!!

We are sure most everyone knows... we are MOVING! Victor and I want (okay mostly me) want to downsize and live on one level. "Downsize" is how I describe it, however our square footage is actually increasing. We are moving to a rambler with everything on one floor - a full basement and an AWESOME view. We are moving to East Layton, in fact our new address is 3201 Goshawk Way. We are off Highway 193, East of Hill AFB and up above MountView Elementary School. We're pretty excited and the house should be done the end of July.
We are sad to move from our awesome neighborhood, but will continue our friendships.... Right now we need to sale our existing home - anyone know someone looking for a home??? Today (May 29) we had the kids meet us at the lot and see the progress.

Disneyland April 29, 30th May 1st

If you don't know by now, Disneyland is one of Victor's and I's favorite places to visit. We told each of our children when their youngest was a minimum of 5 years old AND at least 46" tall - we would take them to Disneyland. Last October we went with Justin and Laura and their 3 boys.... This April we took Amber, Kirk, Kylee, Kobe and Kali.... and had so much fun. We were there for three days - stayed at the StayBridge Suites (which we highly recommend). Rode a shuttle each day to and from Disneyland - made a quick visit to the beach. Grandpa was a trooper and rode Space Mountain, but said it's his last time.... it gives him a headache. Here are some of our Disneyland pics....

We welcome our 23rd grandbaby - our 13th granddaughter.

Nikol and Nick had their first on April 13, 2010 born at 1:51 a.m.

She was 7 lbs 1 oz.

The 'BIG' Birthday Party!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa - Grandpa threw his own birthday party this year. He invited the grandkids (Bartons to celebrate in July 2010) to come and celebrate with him -- their parents were also invited. We went to SpareTime in Syracuse and had 3 hours of bowling, laser tag and glow in the dark putt-putt golf - with 10 tokens each for the arcade.

After our 3 hours, everyone went and bought their own lunch brought it back to the house and we had "dinosaur" cake with ice cream.

We love you Grandpa.... thanks for throwing such a "FUN" birthday party.

60 -- who is 60 !!!!!!-------Happy Birthday Grandpa Victor

Victor turned "60" on March 26th. He celebrates the WHOLE month of March... so to round down the month, his kids threw him a surprise birthday party on Friday the 26th. I blindfolded him and drove around so he wouldn't know where we were going. The kids weren't ready when we agreed, so I had to drive around for another 20 minutes before we got to Amber's house.... (he wasn't so happy when we took off the blindfold)...... But then he warmed up. The kids took him thru the 6 decades that he had been alive and dressed up for each era, told some things that happened in his life and what happened around the world.

Disney On Ice - March 13 2010

For our 7th year in a row - we took some of the grandkids to Disney On Ice. This year we took 14 of them. Started in Clearfield at the Front Runner Station with 10 and picked up 4 more in Woods Cross. The show was CARS and Tinkerbell. This is the first year that the weather was lousy - we came out of the show and it was snowing. Here's a picture of us inside the Energy Solutions Arena by the Jazz car.

The oldest was 12 (Kaitlyn) and the youngest McKinley (2 1/2). We have this down to a science, the kids know what to do, we use the buddy system and every one looks out for their partner. The kids are always SO good for us.

Here we are outside of the Gateway Food Court. We went in and ordered 16 happy meals - then home again on the Front Runner Train.
